University of Florida scientists conduct research and extension programs on potato production in Florida. These scientists are located at University of Florida main campus in Gainesville and UF’s Research and Education Units across the state.

Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.)

UF/IFAS County Extension Agents work together with Potato Scientists to assist Florida potato farmers. 

Producing a potato crop involves a broad spectrum of cultural practices. These include: agronomics, fertilization, cultivar selection, pest management (weeds, insects, diseases), irrigation, mechanization, economics and marketing.
