In May of 2009, the Gator Citrus Club was able to travel to Peru. We saw a variety of crops, including mandarin oranges, asparagus, paprika, and potatoes. We visited two universities,Universidad Nacional del Santa in Chimbote and Universidad Nacional Agraria la Molina in Lima. The International Potato Center ("CIP") showed the expansive number of potato varieties available in Peru, the potato capital of the world.
